Something is definitely wrong with Cato. Like wrong wrong.

[She's writing. Because he's in the next room, and she's not going to give herself away by complaining out loud.]

He's been acting weird every time I go to the lake. And he's been coming home with a lot of bruises and stuff.

But, of course, typical idiot guy. I ask him what's wrong, and he tells me it's nothing. I mean, I get it. I don't need to know everything he's doing, but if he's getting hurt, I kind of think I deserve to know about it.

So. Anyone here know what's up? I figure someone knows something.

Or if you don't know what-- How do I make him tell me?

Well, there are a variety of ways one can get information. If you want to hear it from his lips, there are a few methods. Finding the information yourself would simply be to spy on someone, and might be the easiest if you think you can pull it off.

He knows most of my tricks, that's the problem. We've known each other for years, so it's pretty hard to make him tell me anything he doesn't want to or to follow him without him catching on.

I don't know what's going on, but to make him you, sometimes you just have to make demands. Sometimes threatening works too. But if all that fails, I would follow him to see what he's getting himself into.

[Mac's not the best at offering advice, but he sees it fit to at least try. It sounds like it might be a serious situation -- though as he thinks it over, he remembers the hundreds of times he had brushed off his own injuries he had come home from school with.

Of course I didn't freak out. I just asked how he got them, and he started being evasive. Which tells me he wasn't training. Because he'd just tell me that.

[Certainly not his area of expertise, that. After all, he has never even dated - and that complete and utter lack of experience has him thinking that he ought to step back. He tried, at least, and stands by the idea that this guy he has never met should be gently encouraged but not pressured by any means to speak his mind, if and when he's ready.]

Hope you two can get things sorted out without too to much tru trouble.

Katniss is the stealthy one. I'm more the "get in quick, kill quick, get out quick" sort. I mean, I guess I can trail people if I have to? But Cato knows my tricks.

I do know quite a few ways to get obstinate people to talk. But while I have respect for your throwing hand, you've never struck me as the most honey-tongued of ladies. And the other methods...well, presumably you like him a bit too much for those.
