[It's a question that's been on Clove's mind.

Okay, she's had a lot of questions lately. Valentine's Day and that whole week... It wasn't unkind, but it made her think too much. There were too many uncertainies. The ones with Cato... She didn't feel like thinking about.

But Katniss. She can talk about some of that.]

What do you all do for a living, where you're from? Or what were you going to do? Does everyone in your area do it?

In Panem... your district says a lot about what your job will be. Not always, but probably. Like me... If I hadn't gone to the Games? I'd probably have been the foreman in a factory. Or an overseer of a quarry.

And what you do... When did you learn to do it? And from who?

It's Clove. [But she doesn't sound too bothered. Small mistake.]

Aah, I apologize. [Crap he got that wrong. Apologetic and slightly embarrassed, he pauses.]

The Malnosso had one experiment where I thought that was my name, actually.

[contaeoro]

Really? [That is a very strange experiment.]

... Wonder what the point of that would be.

Well, it might have been an accident too. A lot of us lost our memories, though, and the Malnosso... I guess they tried to help? But we got little cards with our names and some facts about us. But not everything was right. So, it was weird.

... Aah. I believe I remember that. That time, I was given a different name too.

I think they might have just written mine down wrong. Pretty easy mistake to make, really.

It may be possible, but I might say it was on purpose. The name they put on mine was nothing close to my real one.

Why would they do something like that on purpose, though?

Who knows. Maybe something along the lines of testing how strongly we're tied to our identities?
